Hi
My freelander 2003 1.8 was juddering in 1st.

I thought clutch but looking at the notes it wasn't done that long ago.
I did a clutch test (putting it in 4th) and it stalled!

After I did that test it hasn't juddered since!

So I'm wondering was it the new clutch settling in? Or was it the fact I've never had a 4x4 before and hadn't quite got the bite or could it be something mechanical?
Thanks
Jon

Could be one or more of many things - they all judder a bit, part of a design flaw. I find that you need to make sure you are giving it enough revs - its a small engine pulling a heavy car.

It depends on who fitted the clutch and weather the bearing slide was lubricated when done. If not, it will judder.
