Hi all,

Looking at picking up my first freelander 1 on Wednesday! I've previously only been looking at the HSE models because I liked the leather seats and Harmon Kardon system. But this one has popped up, it's only and S model but is also £500 cheaper. What do you guys think? Is the £500 worth the extra upgrades?

P.s I'm not a fan of the sunroofs on the HSE models

Thanks

What are you going to be using it for? If its for off roading and ragging around a field Id go for the S model. If your taking the Wife and kids out at the weekends and using it as your day to day drive the HSE is the obvious choise. And £500 is nothing when it comes to all the upgrades youll have to play with...

HSE for me, mostly for the heated leather and front fog lights. The HK stereo is only ok, not great.

I like the sunroofs, they make it really light in there, as long as they don't rattle.

on my 2006 HSE TD4 auto I like my sunroof, leather heated seats(for the wife) I do not use the fog lights but they are there the Hk stereo as the wires have been replaced by LR ,I hate the cup holders on the dash but we have it sorted now , but on every freelander I hate where the horn buttons are.

As an HSE owner, I like my (fully working and non leaking) sunroof and heated full leather seats and the HK stereo is - as others have said - just okay. BUT, I think I'd hold out for a good, late model SE. The half leather/suede is so much nicer, and some of them still have all the goodies (heated front screen, heated seats, front fogs etc) with the exception of the sunroof, and maybe cruise control.
