Hi all
Just under a month ago I bought my first LR. A Freelander 1.8 petrol Olympian model on a 55 plate as a replacement for my old beloved Frontera.
As the LR is not new there is naturally a few things that I would like to do in terms of minor improvements to personalise it and to allow us to get to know each other so to speak!!
I'm having problem with a water leak at the moment coming from the middle of the bell housing and doesn't seem to be dripping down the sides.
I have used Bar's leak stop but also found the radiator light is staying on, the header tank is full and if I remove the sensor which is in the bottom of a cylinder type thingy mounted approx 4 inches along the pipeline away from the bottom of the header tank the light goes out. Also when the FL reaches tempreture i.e fans kick in this pipe remains cold but the return (smaller pipe) is warm/hot. Could this also be a thermostat problem?
Forgive my tragic descriptions; I'm not a mechanic by trade but I'm hoping that there are are few boofins out there who can guide me in the right direction as the wife is worried this new vehicle is going to be a mega money pit!!!
If anyone out there in Landyzone has any ideas / suggestions I would be really grateful.
Cheers
Phil
