Help with passenger door

Sorry for another door problem but cannot find anything that helps, got a 51 plate td4 3-door, the passenger door was open but not it wont open from inside or out, tried the key thob and key in the door.
The pin wont fully pop up even thou I have had the door panel off and messed with the rods, is the door in deadlock position ?, are there any tricks to getting the door open ?.

So it looks like I must be the first person that's had this happen ?

Have you tried pulling the inside door handle? That should pop the pin up as the linkage is mechanical. I believe using the key operares the electrical part (solenoid). Failure of the solenoid is not uncomon and will normally require replacement of the whole latch assemly. Good luck

Right been on this all morning, the door pin isn't going up or down on the remote, you can hear the motor working, even when you pull it up and down theres no resistance, its just loose. the inner door handle wire has now come off but I can get me finger on the mech and lift it but the door wont open.
I really don't know what else to do

Regarding the door The small linkage rods that connect everything can be fiddly, they basically are just push fittings which pop into small plastic clips. (Sometimes these break). It should just be a matter of popping them back in if they are not damaged. An inspection mirror and torch may be useful.
Have you been working on the door before this problem occurred?
If you have then you may have same problem I once did where I didnt line up the door latch and pin very well. If that happens then the door can be closed too tightly and its difficult for the latch to release. Does it look as tho your door is pulled in closer to the body than before? If so try giving the door a push (at a suitable strong point so you dont dent it) and pull the handle to open at the same time. Hope this helps.

The door was ok when I got it, replaced the window reg in the drivers door and boot door but haven't touched the passenger door, all the rods are intact, just cannot open it.

does the back door open ok? Have you tried using the button on the dash?

Back door does open and yes tried the dash button.

Sounds like it is a problem with the door mechanism internally. It is an arse of a job to try and get the door open with the latch stuck closed. I guess that the double lock actuator isn't working hence why the button has no resistance.
