Heater only works on settings 3 & 4

Help Please!!!

My heater on my much loved 99 xedi only works on settings 3 and 4. I have been told that this is probably due to the resistor burning out and should be an easy replacement, so i have the part and am willing to fit it.....but....i have been told it is in two different locations, havoing removed various pieces of my FL, I still have not located the damn thing!!!

Any help/pictures appreciated greatly!

this resistor is accessible under the dashboard, passenger side

A replacement resistor is around £15 plus VAT

There are resistors from maplins with better quality...... they cost pence
