Heater knobs

Folks saw on few other mg / rover pages people change their heater knob to other type in mg rover range.

I know they are basically same type but has anyone done an upgrade and is there a year / car specific not to take them from.

if you heater knobs are looking old try taking them off and washing them with plenty of washing up liquid they will look a lot better.
 
I tried with knife not coming off. May be I need to put more pressure.. I don't want to make marks on the sides .. Will try this evening when the rain stops !

the knobs have skirts: get the blade behind them and twist hard. One of mine was stuck on and it took a LOT of twisting. If you use a bit of cardboard behind the knife and between the knife and the skirt you should not mark anything.
 
I replaced mine last year after trying to clean them at first. There where / got sticky :mad:

Got new ones in black from britcar:
