Heated front screen

My heated front screen was only working on passenger side.

Used the threads on here to do some investigating.

Was getting power to drivers side but the earth seemed to be at fault.

Cleaned up the earthing point and now it works ..... We'll sort of .... I only seem to have about 4 lines that are working........ Is this new screen time ( or just buy a scraper)

Do these screens just fail with age or is there something else at fault

I'd love heated front screen. Lucky for some.

I was amazed at the PTC heater this morning. It was freezing. I ran the engine while I scraped the side windows and by the time I reached the windscreen it was already half defrosted. I never realised how effective it was before.

I've got the heated front screen in my Freelander Sport.

Only the drivers side works - I took off the plastic covers and checked the electrics. I've got power and earth on both sides but the passenger half of the screen has no continuity across the screen element. Until the glass is chipped I'll just manage I think

Same here. Passenger side is great, drivers side just 3 or 4 lines working.
I've got a nasty chip on passenger side that has been repaired too.😕
£80 Excess on windscreen cover. Think I'll leave it for a bit.
