Headlight Bulb Advice

Im looking to change/upgrade my headlight bulbs to something brigher and whiter without fitting xenon's. just wondering what if any you guys have fitted

In my Facelift I have fitted HID4U 55w HID kit with the anti dazzle bulbs.

Prior to that I had Philips extreme bulbs in. Supposedly brighter the the nightbreakers.

The HID Conversion KIT by hids4u with 6000k is unfortunately out of stock at the moment

do you guys use the night breakers on the dipped and high beams and what do you use for the side lights?

Freelander 1 pre facelift uses H4 I believe. (2 bulbs)

Facelift has H7 for dipped beam and mean beam. (4 bulbs)

So what side light bulbs are you using with your night breakers?

I use some LED bulbs from ebay...

would you mind recommending which LED side lights to use please ? Theres so many on Ebay !!

funny enough I've got a pair of ring square spots , but has a 55 watt bulb and been thinking of putting 100 w bulbs in each spot.

what have u guys fitted wattage wise in ur spots plse

is it worth dropping a some LED bulbs in there as they have halogens as standard

so much range online,???

Technically yes 55 Watts is the max wattage. However on a lamp that is only on with main beams, it's difficult to tell from the outside.

LED's aren't as focused as proper bulbs. This means that although that might have a higher luminous output, it is diffused so less light goes where you want.
This is how these so called high brightness bulbs work. The actual light output is strictly controlled in order to meet the necessary requirements. These high brightness bulbs aren't really that much brighter than a quality, new, standard bulb. However they do generally have a small filament. This smaller filament allows for a more tightly controlled beam. This is what gives the extra brightness. The gas used allows the small filament go burn whiter too. This adds to the overall brightening effect.
In the real world, only a higher wattage will give you more actual light. Sadly high wattage bulbs don't comply to the regulations, hence they can't be used on the public roads.

I've got these for the side lights. They light up the whole reflector a lot more effectively than the standard W5W wedge.
