ok back on track for two secs

Pulled out the gubbins and the cables had wound out of the motor and were all buggered up.

So after much playing about, attempted to use some other similar style cable, and did this that and that other to try and stop cable from slipping,,,

bottom line......wound up, wound down, wound up - cable snapped and window dropped to the bottom

Now my father in law who was helping has gone off to get something to wedge the window up (currently using a stick of wood!)

So my question is, what can you get spares wise? can you get just the cables with 'ends' or do you have to buy the entire gubbins?

Thankyou all - off to bang head...

best thing for wedging door windows up are wooden clothes pegs. take em apart and you got perfect window wedges, we always used these when i worked for the AA

Excellent idea! I have cable-tied the wood to the pillars but we were trying to find something wedge-like.
