Freelander Wing Mirror Problem

Hello All, new to the forum. Some advice would be gratefully received. My wife drives a 04 Freelander td4 Kalahari. She has phoned me this morning to let me know she has a problem with her passenger side electric wing mirror. She uses the dashboard switch every evening to make both wing mirrors go in, she got in it this morning, pressed the switch and they didnt come out at first, then, eventually, they did, however the passenger side mirror started to flap in and out of its own accord she has managed to stop this now by forcing the passenger wing mirror to stay in (not sure how), the driver side mirror is responding normally. Now, I have to say that I have not seen this so far with my own eyes and will investigate when I get home form work tonight. Has anybody here heard of this before? Any thoughts as to what the problem could be and a possible fix?

Possible that water has got into the connections? Try a spray of WD40 on the connections to get rid of moisture.

Hello everyone

I wondered whether anyone had any idea on what is happening to my near side wing mirror.It works perfectly untill i go into reverse when it should tip down so that I can see the kerb it actually does the opposite and tilts up !! It had been working fine up to now

Any Ideas

Perhaps an introduction and a bit more info about your vehicle might be in order so that help can be offered.

I believe that your vehicle may indeed be a portal to a reverse dimension, allowing you to go back in time. Upside down.

I have not heard of the freelander mirrors flipping down when reversing or am I missing something , it sounds as though your mirrors are out of sink, try pressing the switch so they are in and then manually push the one that is not going In to in, or do it going outwards ,unless you have a problem with the cogs in the mirror
