Thats very deceiving as people assume they can tow a 2 tonne caravan or trailer with no problems which isn't the case.
The 2.0 Xedi has a kerbweight of 1550 kgs so the ideal max to tow is about 1,320 kgs (roughly 85%). You can go above that but expect it to start getting a fair bit lairy once you reach 100%+. I towed a caravan weighing 1,410 kgs (91%) and the car plodded with it ok - but you could feel the van moving the car about a bit.
The 1.8i has a slightly lower kerbweight - 1,495kgs so you would be looking at an ideal weight of upto 1,270 kgs.
If you are towing a caravan you can get specific details here: What TowCar.com - test your car and caravan outfit
From memory the 2.0Xedi noseweight was 140kgs or thereabouts. That helped with towing as a bit of extra weight at the front of the van helped stability.
As has been suggested checking the Rave manual will confirm this for the 1.8i.
