Freelander TD4 2003 removing the heater Matrix

Does anyone know a easy and quick way of removing the Heater Matrix without dismantling and removing the front centre console on the above vechicle.

Nope - and its a dash out jobby as well as far as I can remember.

Yes, dash needs to come out, no other way of doing it. It's not as bad as it sounds though.

Just done mine. It's not the nightmare that some dealers make out but the entire dash has got to come out. The Haynes manual is a bit dis-jointed and has you jumping from one chapter to another, makes it seem much harder than it is. Take time with a note pad and list the job in cronological order all on one page. Once you have the whole job listed decide if you are up to it. It took me 4 hours from start to finish. One word of warning don't start it if you can't finish it because nobody will look at one that is in bits already.
