Hi, just wondered if any one can offer me a bit of advice,
I have a 03 plate freelander TD4 with its standard wheels and tryes. 215/65/R16. The tyres leave alot to be desired on wet grass and mud. I use the car a bit off road (well... try, it is a freelander. hehe) and am looking to get some all terain tyres, Don't want just off road tyres because i also travel alot on roads in the car at work. Just wondering if anyone can offer me any advice on what to go for, was looking at the genral grabber AT2's? they anygood? also do i want to be sticking to the same size, or can i go any wider or bulker without changing wheels and suspention etc?
any advice or suggestions would be great.

Thanks, chris.

General Grabber AT2 are the tyres of choice - not sure wot the biggest size is that yu can get for std rims - but the bigger (diameter) the better. Thats wot i use on my Special and , i think, wot acouple that went on Salisbury Plain use.

We went for a second set of 15" wheel's with 215/80-15 At2's and Keep the 215/65-16 for road use. The At 2's on the 15" wheel's do feel a little boat like on winding road's (bigger side wall/profile) but I imagine they should be OK in standard size on the 16" wheel's. The 15's do give a tiny amount of lift but if you only do a little gentle stuff stick with a standard size. You will need more ground clearance following a 90 in Sailsbury Plain though, like we did on sat :crazy_driver:
