Viscous coupling siezed
IRD (transfer box) failed, stripped down to see how serious this was, complete bearing failure which caused many broken teeth on geartrain.
After changing the IRD the '3 Amigos' are now lit, ABD/TC/HDC warning lights, presumably because the wheels were spinning in a way that confused the ABS computer when the IRD was off and now cannot reset these without a main dealer.
windscreen wiper mechanism very worn.

Auto gearbox is fooked 80,000 miles. . . . .recon Ashcroft bein fitted as i type. . . . .friggin gaylander stupid bastid fing

1998 XEDI

Clock display needed 99p worth of nokia screen elastomers to fix.
Broken downpipe bracket replaced by £2.99 exhaust clamp and angle iron.
IRD buggered after a garage replaced a leaky oil seal with a TD4 part which fell out.
Rear diff bracket replaced in 2003.
Clutch replaced in 2002
Fuel rail / coolant pipe replaced (rusty) in 2006.
Prop support bearings replaced in 2005
Servo replaced in 2008 (£90 "as new" unit)
Heater blower resistors replaced by maplins units (£4.99) in 2006

178,000 miles covered to date. Drives "as new".

jist had er new auto [re-con] gearbox fitted ,old wun had the torque converter fooked, un as you's have to take it out any ways i thought ,re-con. . . . . .Ashfords of Bedfordshire are top dog fer auto boxes, got it couriered to ma little garage , will get program settings alturd after the 400mile run in time [yes 400 miles] of slow gear change ,then back to de fault settings . . . . . .stoopid gaylander bastid
