2000 2.0 Xdi

Cracked Chassis (Fixed with a couple of strips of inertube, well its still cracked but you can't hear it)
Misfire Chaffed 'start of injection' sensor wire. Fixed with insulation tape.
Pig to start can only easily fit two glow plugs but that fixed it.
Front suspension bushes worn but I haven't changed them as I can't get the bolts out.
40K miles in 18 months 160K on clock.

Can't complain really but I'd take a 300Tdi disco as a swap cos its a rover at the end of the day.

Bought it off Flebay (I Know a risk in itself)
Drove 1 mile to fill it up to find ATF dripping out of it £600 to replace a pump seal in auto box
3 days later wouldnt start, Traced to starter motor removed myself and got rebushed for £30
1 week after osr door seized - replaced door check strap myself £22
took out after all this for its first family run, anything over 60 mph and it was chuking oil out that much it was dripping of the rear tow eye - Fixed with new delimiting valve

both rear brake bulbs
Full brake service - some nuggit and fit the frt brake pads the wrong way round
Poor perfomance - Cleaned out the EGR valve and fit a rover ron

Coolent leak - replaced rad cap

Total spent inc purchase Approx £6300
Traded in for £4100 8 mths later

Never knew a car so well underneath !

Loved it when it was running - Best car i have had and ive had a few

Good knows what it would have cost if i didnt get my hands dirty

But it was an 02 plate with all the so called problems sorted !
