Just a quick post to say that I've fitted a ronbox to my L series, I had adjusted the fuel pump to improve fuel economy which worked beautifully. The problem came when I towed my caravan, we took it through France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. It towed it ok but there was a lack of torque which caused a few more gear changes that perhaps I would have liked. So I decided to get a Ronbox, the difference is amazing, a hill I normally go up near where I live, I would accelerate up it in 3rd and maintain in 4th after switching the box on and fiddling with the settings it was accelerating up the hill in 5th!! It pulls like a train. I am convinced that towing my caravan will be a much easier prospect now and the acceleration in normal conditions is very much improved.

You have to wonder why Landrover were so conservative with the L series engine. They seem to have eared so far on the side of caution when tuning them they belittled what could have been known as one of the all time great engines.

it's a resistor, and an op-amp for the MAP signal (which gives fuel-cut above 21psi anyway)

....in a pretty box ;)

got one fitted on my td4 and also transformed it

have got a dashboard switch so I can have maximum mpg or on the other setting , it uses the number i have got set on the box, currently number 2 and the maf off, got a bosch maf

can alter the switch whilst going along and just have to lift my foot off the accelerator , move the switch then back onto the accelerator

or u can have a 3 way switch ,

am getting around 41 mpg on a run

can really tell the difference and wouldn't be without it

to be honest I have never liked those kind of boxes, I had one years ago when I first had my first td4 it must be 12-13 years and all I found that it was putting more fuel into the engine but a lot of it was staying in the turbo pipes and thus destroying them I got through more turbo pipes , I still have it and was going to try it on this on a td4 2006 as I now have the DPH pies on .

I mainly got mine to improve the mpg and it has certainally done that, has improved the smoothness and pick up of the hippo

got the dph hoses fitted and made sure I went through the entire engine first, ie crankcase filter, etc etc before i fitted the synergy box
