picked up my 2006 td4 sport yesterday so thought i would take it for a spin today so went through to cass and back about 100 miles round trip

Noticed the parking sensors not working just constant beep
also at roughly 65 to 70 there is vibration in the accelerator pedal and steering wheel its not shaking just constant vibration.. i thought maybe balancing ?
Another thing, when setting off in first hear a slight knock from back right hand side ?

any ideas please

Throttle is fly by wire, so any vibration there is through the chassis. Could be wheel balancing, maybe a wheel baring or CV (any clicking when turning?) - pos prop shaft bearings or UJs. Have a search on here, these vibrations are reported reasonably often, so you might get a match.

The knock is probably a rear diff mount - but also search "cracked chassis" - there's a habit of the mounts for the rear subframe cracking. Also do a '1 wheel up test' - to make sure the VCU hasn't got to tight and putting to much pressure through the rear diff/subframe and other transmission bits.

btw - often a Google search with Landyzone in the search gives better results than the advanced search facility on the forum.

I should add - that I've never experienced either of these - my good old L Series just keeps on rocking without any probs (other than ABS and complete transmission failure caused by me!) even after 5 years of my ownership :)

thanks for the reply and tips

I didnt think i would come acroos these problems as only bought it on thurs and it was MOT on weds with no advisories

MOT will never pick up a wheel balance or propshaft bearing issue as they are not safety related. The VCU could be locked solid and the Diff/IRD about to disintegrate and it would still pass.
Mine came with 12 months MOT and the first thing I had to do was remove the prop shaft to save it from pulling itself apart.

had same .. not long after i bought the vehicle
i.e. steering wheel vibes at over 65mph ( aprox. )
( but without go-pedal vibes )
i checked the wheel nuts for tightness
some were just under torque spec ..
tightened to proper torque .. end issue

wheel nut torque is supposed to be re-checked about 100 miles or so after re-fitting wheels

thanks for the replies im getting the balancing done this week. on way out of hull today the engine light on dash came on but only for a few seconds and went off not been back on again so will have to keep my eyes on it
