ok, i have a 2003 TD4.

1. the, what i class at wallet/glasses pocket forward of the sunroof above the rear view mirror, is it just a pocket? or is it where you can fit some extra option, like a trip computer, or maybe a altimeter/electronic compas? is there such an option? i do find my CB fits in there a treat too.

2. when i turn the ignition off there is a funny whiiring sound coming from the dash. the fan has stopped so its not that, i dont have A/C so its not that. it lasts about 10 seconds or so. its definatly from the dash as i've spen for ever looking for it.

3. In the cubby in the boot (where the jask and my jump leads are stored) there is a small witing loom. now, the stealership say its for some optional SUB WOOFER for the sound system, but i cant find one on ebay or anywhere, nobodys heard of it. are they telling me porkiy pies??

Hiya UC, Here's my ten ponnorth....

1. No idea.

2. Ain't got the foggiest.

3. Stealers are right for once, Harmon Kardon uprated stereo system, optional extra, not bad if you have a decent head unit supplying the noises.

;)

Hi,

Can 2. be the same as I got/get ?? You have to hear it with the hood open of course, 2nd video is taken from the inside, that way it might look as coming from the dash as you said. Check the whole thread if needed. Good luck.

number one I guess a nice store place good for a gps reciver and to hang an air freshner from

number 2 is the either a water pump or the diesel heater. the waterpump pushes water around the matrix to cool it rather than standing water or the diesel heater is what kicks in to warm the cabin up as it takes a long time for the engine to warm up to a point where it is comfatable

and
number 3 is for the stereo but I was lead to belive it was for the cd changer when in the boot

ed

ED, it sould be a pump of some kind, but it sounds more like something that leaking gas. kinda or a sighing sound. oh well, it just bugs me as i cant tell what it is. its definatly in the dash, not the hood.

my cd changer thats inder the seat has twice the wires the connector in the boot has. once again, i hate having wiring looms kicking around with nothing pluged into them, kinda makes me think i'm missing out on something.

as for the cubby hole. i was thinking of taking the black pocket out and then pulling my roan angel apart. i have twin external lazer detectors on each numberplate, and a external GPS antenna, that way i could hide it in the cubby (after a bit of modification) as the laws bound to change soon.

regarding number 2 on your list, the button next to the air con switch that recycles the cabin air (in case of attack by terrorists or police using tear gas) works an electric motor that shuts off the supply of air from outside. it takes about ten seconds and is somewhere behind the passenger glove box.try pressing this switch

well i have the Tomy(tm) landrover frelander, it doesnt have aircon or cabin air recycle. wheels were an optional extra.
