Default fault code P1190 on a TD4

hi all,
it starts off that agricultural fuel was put in the tank, not long after irractic power,
was asked to look at vehicle,
engine breather filter blocked solid, now replaced
egr valve caked solid, now decontaminated and valve moves freely
oil and filter change
fuel filter change
ecu light comes on just before 2000rpm
code read P1190 fuel pressure plausibility regulator, valve sticking

have also replaced the common rail fuel pressure switch (bosch)

any ideas please, so i can see the back end of this,

oh yea and the a/c pump pulley has decided to collapse

await in anticipation for your help

Thanks

Lyndon 'b'

Standard OBD fault code is
P0190 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
The first number can be 'defined by vehicle manufacturer' so if LR put in a 1 instead of a 0, it might be the same fault code.

Sounds like the system is not detecting sufficient fuel pressure increase in the HP system just when the turbo comes in (around 2000rpm) from what you say it sounds as though it was well gummed up. I would undo the fuel filter again and pour in some injector cleaner which will flush out the HP system and injectors directly. If you still can't clear the fault code then clean out/change the pressure switch on the back of the HP pump, this has to switch at very high speed which it can't do if full of gunk. Good luck.D..

The pressure switch/control valve is screwed into the rear of the mechanical HP pump which is just left of the starter motor.

High pressure fuel is measured by the HP sensor screwed into the end of the fuel rail.
Both of these can suffer with poor electrical connections.

Hi i also have the same fault code but my TD4 is running rough at cold start with lost of smoke belching out, once its heat up it stops but the engine keeps cutting out and smells fumy I've had it in the garage and the think it could be the hp fuel pump, but surly if it was it wouldn't start at all.
Any idea's?

Pop into a land rover dealer who should give you one!

However they are normally 4 digits long not 7, is your radio a factory fitted one?
