Hey Gurus,

My Freelander (2006, 45k) has stopped reving past about 2500. It sounds fine, I can hear the turbo spinning up, but it just wont rev past.

when it hits that rev the 'engine malfunction indicator - M.I.L - amber' light comes on.

I've been reading over pages on here the closest thing I found was this: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/freelander-td4-lack-power-71139-5.html
but there is no mention of their light being on.

is there anything I can check or just ring land rover and book it in?

Thanks
Tony.

Just had similar problem on my 55 plate td4, only mine was intermitant. It ended up at the dealers for a computer check (£35), indicating the fuel pump, common fault apparantly. They quoted £300 to supply and fit pump (@£200), fuel filter replacement while they were there. labour was only @£40 .
Got a pump off flea bay for £80, filter for £10 and fitted myself, free. I recomend to take for dealer computer check, at least it will tell you what the problem is

Good result guys. I was thinking split induction hose but this would cause the same problem and without the noticable hiss of lost induction pressure.
