Hello and thank you for reading this post.

For the last two two weeks my engine management light has been coming on my freelander TD4 52 plate, when this happens the vehicle is very juddering, it seems to happen after I have been on the motorway for 30 mins, I will get the light and it feels like the car is holding back, even when the light is not on it feels like it's holding back. Once I slow down down from motorway speed that's when the real issues start. The engine light will come on and the car will judder sometimes violently, as soon as I raise the revs the light will go out and the car will be fine, it still feels like it is holding back, tonight after this had happened I turned the engine off but is still ran for a good number of seconds. Once started again the engine light remained on but the car ran ok, but once again soon afterwards it felt like it was holding back and start juddering, with the intermittent engine management light. It has recently been serviced to see if this would help but it has made no difference, they even put it on a diagnostic machine, but because the light doesn't stay on nothing was logged.

I'm just after ideas as to what might be causing this, it is booked into a garage on Friday, but I'm not sure they will find anything as it's intermittent and will not show up on the diagnostic machine.

Kind regards
Andy

Had the car to a garage and they couldn't find the problem, and advised that I needed to go to a specialist diesel garage.

So I went to one, explained the symptoms, the lad smiled, 10 minutes later car fixed and back on the road. Turns out it was the fuel pressure sensor, it was sending my fuel pressure all over the place.

They didn't even bother charging me for the work or the fuel pressure diagnostics. Well pleased :)

Kind Regards
Jack
