hi guys gonna try and retro fit cruise control today (if it ever stops raining) got all the bits although one thing still confuses me the part numbers for the ecu under the seat ( yep all wireing in place) .the part no i have is scb100211 i have a 2003 td4 auto is this the right one or do i need the other one part no scb100212 done the searches and got conflicting info many thanks:confused:

up date cruise control works and works well only 2 problems i had were fitting the steering wheel paddles (no hole) so had to cut that and then realised didnt have the master switch so i improvised and used a front fog light switch(the one on the binicle) so anyway as a lot of peeps have said its plug in and play happy days

I am a bit late as you have it running but there are 2 different ecu's for the cruise one if for the v6 and the other TD4 that I know of . the V6 one usually has v6 in with the number I know I brought one by mistake.

no question just saying glad you have it working I would not be without mine it has save me a few speeding tickets going through villages.

Amen to that just surprised that it was so easy to get working. like i said earlier the hardest bit was the hole cutting of the steering wheel and getting hold of the master switch which i still dont have lol

I luckily got a master switch I got one of EBay. and I was surprised how easy it was . mine works different to my old one . on my old one you just switched the master switch on and then set this one switch on master switch the pull on the reset and then set and to switch off take foot of the gas and then pull on the reset, then off on the master switch , in the book it says never keep it switch on all the time.

i was looking for a master switch but i didnt want to pay the prices so i looked at the front fog switch works just as well. mine works a little differently master switch on then pull the set button speed increases pull res switch you slow down pull it twice in quick succession and the cc is knocked off also the motorway symbol on the dash is orange very strange

Hi,

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I’m about to do this upgrade.

I’ve got a 52 plate TD4 auto. I’ve picked up the master switch (actually I have a couple, for the binnacle or the side auxiliary switch panel), the ECU and the steering wheel controls should be here tomorrow.

Where does the ECU live, please? You mentioned under a seat. I’ve just changed my seats from factory fabric to factory black leather with heated front seats (all the wiring for those were present and I just needed to fit the switches near the ashtray).

Anyway, under the drivers seat was a third plug (1 for heated seats, 1 for pretensioner, 1 for.... I don’t know!). Is that what I’m looking for because it only has 2 wires.

I hope I’ve not bought all the bits and dropped a b*****k by not having he wiring loom in place!

Any advice would be great, thanks

If the wiring is fitted, then it should be under the carpet, below the RH front seat. You're looking for a locking type multi-plug with about a dozen wires going to it.
Not all FL1s were fitted with the wiring though, some were only fitted with partial wiring.

hi

does this help u

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/td4-fitting-cruise-control.186205/

have enclosed a picture of the wire ur trying to find under the seat , this is where the cruise ecu fits

u will see a small slit in the carpet , try and feel if u can find the wire

as @Nodge68 also mentions , if it’s not there u won’t be able to fit the cruise control, as it took me ages to look into this some years ago

there’s also an ecu bracket u can buy, but is only available second hand as it’s now obsolete
