I have a commercial 05 reg Freelander
Used it for work but I'm mainly contracting now so only driving to the lock-up and then into my mates van most of the time.
If I convert it to a 4 or 5 seater will it still be classed as a commercial?
I know the logbook will need updating, though I haven't even looked into it so far.
Just an idea I've been contemplating

I know it will be a bit of work but I've had a new clutch, 4 new injectors, new VCU and other little jobs so I'm not keen on selling it.
I know it's a trustworthy old van/car
Apart from the leaking injector overspill pipe, and that part is on order, I can't see any issues popping up

mine was a commercial and converted it to have the full interior and seats , is a 2002 td4

the rear seat belt brackets were required to be welded in , changed my v5 , put in the windows myself which that's what will change it to a non commercial

but if u run a business did u claim the vat back for it, as I think if u convert it u may have to repay the vat back

get a complete interior , with all the little fixings, back carpet, brackets etc

is an easy job to do, hardest but was pushing out the metal plates and replacing the. with quarter light windows ,

if I remember the whole lot cost me around £500 , inc a new mot at the time of conversion , was free to change my v5 log book and of course tell the ins company

I think it changes from a commercial as soon as u put the side windows in ???

hope that helps abit
