Hi all,
Clutch is slipping on my FL1 TD4. It's on 77k at the moment. Since I've noticed the clutch slipping, I've also noticed a big increase in engine noise, like a drone, especially in 3rd gear up. Is this likely to be related to the clutch? Don't want to go and spend around £1k on a clutch and DMF if there's something else big lurking! I have had the VCU replaced a year ago and it's been good until this clutch episode.
What do you all think?
Cheers!

if the two are related .. sooner the clutch is replaced the better ..

as for the DMF ..
i had my slave cylinder replaced at 91k miles
clutch were 50% worn .. so had that replaced as well
( as gearbox had to be removed for the slave cylinder )
the DMF was on good shape .. no need to replace ..

was told by the mechanic .. that DMFs usually fail due to heat buildup
from towing .. and/or slipping clutch ..
