Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone will know what may be wrong with my Landrover Freelander Premium Sport march 2003 reg.

On the drivers side when using the key fob the drivers door and passenger door don't unlock.

But the drivers side door does unlock when i use the key.

The passengers door doesnt open with the key fob but does lock with the key fob.

Also the passenger door does lock when using the lock button inside the car but doesnt open when using this button.

on the other side of the car both doors work fine with either the button or the key fob.

The passenger door stopped working about 4 months ago and the drivers door stopped working 2 days ago.

Thanks, :)

Hi Wheel,

:welcome2:

This is a common problem on freelanders, and is a result of faulty lock solonoids.

They can be picked up for about £30 each on ebay, and take about an hour per side to fit.. It is fiddly, so youll need a few cups of tea and some patience.

Do a search on here for more info.

Thanks,

When you say an hour to fit each side. do i need to fit one for the front door and for the rear door on the side where the doors dont work, cos they work fine on the other other sde of the car.

Thanks,

Wheel,

you'll need one for every door.. ie 1 for the drivers side front, and 1 for the drivers side rear.

My drivers front AND passenger front door went not so long back.. I found i did the passenger side in 35 mins, but the drivers door was more fiddly and took me just under an hour..

If you do the job yourself, make sure you patch up the membrane underneath, otherwise damp air will come through the cavity, and eventually make your radio speaker grills corrode.
