...is what I found when I went to drive to work this morning!

I don't fancy taking the dash off so Halfords is my first port of call for some RadWeld.

Will let you know how I get on, but would be interested to hear of any similar experiences and the results

Radweld....i steer of the like cos they have a tendancy to block up things they shouldn't.

I would have a good look at your heater matrix first as it is liable to be leaking.
Radweld won't stop it doing so either!

Well, I'm guessing the heater matrix is the problem.

LR quoted parts plus £100 per hour, probably 3 hours, although everyone else says 6 hours so that's a grand for them to do it!

I know I can buy one for around £200 but I'm not keen on performing major heart surgery myself.

I've seen some positive comments about RadWeld and no negative ones, so I was hoping for a bit of input here.

I know what you mean, but on a V6 FL i'd be very careful putting owt in the coolant that could cause other problems.

There may be another Freelanderer near you that could give you a hand for a few :beer2:

you obviously havent looked - its the Devils semen :(.

ok for a get yu home at all costs, but it dont fix the problem - it just hides it.

On a petrol Hippoo - never .

It's mentioned in some posts, just do a search.

Do you have a Haynes manual?

Download Rave as well, some good info on there:)

I actually do have a Haynus, but tbh I was a tad disappointed with the content. I remember when those manwells used to tell you how to do useful stuff, like adjust the timing, etc ;)
Anyway the crossword on the back is good so no worries.

Alternatively, is there an easy way to temporarilly bypass the heater matrix so I dont have to get it fixed so urgently?

Cheers

Not tried it, but disconnecting the feed pipes under the bonnet then using a suitable diameter pipe to fix them together could work.
This would effectively bypass the hm.

yes go to b&q or somewhere that sells plumbing stuff and get a 15mm u bend, take off both pipes and connect u bend with jubilee clips, then bleed system, should solve problem temporally !

I know it's old but I thought I'd update the post for interests sake.
Plus I'm the only one in the office, so why not!

I did what was suggested and bypassed the heater matrix.
Anyway, some time later I noticed another pool of water in the driver's side, which made me think a bit.

Then when I braked, I felt something dripping. The spare coolant reservoir which for some reason is located above the driver's head was leaking! (I think some people call this a "sun roof")

So, just for ****s and giggles I removed the heater bypass, and hey the heater works fine with no leaks!

Dash out, new matrix.
