Yeh, curse the 5 quid ODB2 reader for not working !
Last time it was the modulator - so got a replacement one fitted. I kept the old one though cos I read there is a 'bodge' you can do to them so they work again - something to do with routing a wire through its internals or something - I'll have to dig that out again.
Anyway - first thing is to get it down a garage to have the codes read - or invest in an i930.
Oh and apart from those couple of kind souls - bollocks to the lot of you !

As I said in the last post, you are all wonderful people and before spending out having the codes read, I was thinking....
When I turn the ignition on, I get the 4 lights (ABS, TC & 2xHDC lights). One of the HDC lights goes out to leave the three lit and they stay on. This is before I move the car. Normally, I think 3 go out to leave just the ABS lit - and this goes out once up to about 5MPH.
So from this, can I safely say its not a wheel sensor/drive shaft ring - because these only are identified once the car is moving? Or is there a 'self check' on the sensors?
I can also safely say its not the brake switch - because that doesn't throw the TC light.
So by deduction - it must be the modulator?

sorry to hear you have the dreaded problem,have you checked the gravity sensor that is next to the handbrake under the centre console .

even if brake lights work, it still could be the brake light switch. ive had 3 go. and each time its been one of the three gold prongs snapped off inside at the bottom of the switch causing it to short.
