Default Another Tailgate Door Problem !!

Here is the scenario. Wife notices tailgate window will not open and initially neither will door. Read up as much as I can and this is what I've done bearing in mind novice.

Disconnected battery and reconnected and reset alarm - Door will now open but window stays up. Check fuses - Tailgate window fuse ok but rearwiper/wash blown. Apparently wipers were working before this problem. Change fuse and reset alarm etc. Window still stays up, rear wiper and washer not working. Stripped interior off tailgate door and RHS rear luggage compartment - cannot see any mashed wires etc . can get wiper motor to work by applying power from 9v battery to it ! Question is what do I do next? Change relays ?? Remove water pump ?? Is there an easy way to test rear window regulator without having to remove it (cables seen in good position)?? Give up??

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want this to beat me now I've gone this far! I thought it would just be the fuse!!

get a multi-meter on to the regulator, has it got power, if not check the relay behind the back seat trim panel.

Recheck the cables,

Plenty of peeps have had this problem, yet no feedback to their individual causes.

when you sort it let us know.
