Hi there all as a newbie i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice i have a freelander 1 1998 2.0 diesel. When i pull out of a junction/ roundabout or turn a corner sharply whilst accelerating there is a grating sound from the loaded rear wheel like the drive shaft catching slightly could this be the rear diff bushes failing or something worse?? Has anyone tryed the poly bushes on the rear diff instead of the rubber ones? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

oh - welcome to Looneyzone - hope yu got a thick skin and deep pockets.

Thanks for your advice will have a look do you know if the poly diff bushes last any longer than the rubber ones?

Most vehicles I know if that came from the front you looking at the CV joint , but being new to Landys I dunno what they have in place and being 4 wheel drive may indicate a bearing gone wonky. But thats just a wild guess as I know 4x4s and all offroad are built more sturdy than your norm car. Acceleration with angled front wheel movement always indicated the joint , good luck on your diagnosis and hope its cheap and simple :)
