Have a 54 plate td4 turns over great but just won't start.

Starts with easy start then runs fine fuel is getting to rail had plugged up to diagnostics no fault codes and getting fuel pressure readings on live data when cranking and running . I am swaying towards a cam sensor??

But can anyone point me towards the fuel pressure readings at cranking i know they should be 2.5 at running

Hello and welcome, would put my money on a injector leaking back.
If memory serves when running the high pressure pump runs at 28000psi but when cranking it needs 6000psi if an injector is leaking will not pressurise rail and will not fire.
The cam sensor normally only gives a issue when warm.

Hi thanks for the reply that's the kind of readings I was getting at cranking and idling checked all injectors for signs of leaks but nothing there that's why I was thinking in a cam sensor as I have read these are a problem

you wouldn't see the injector leaking back as it goes back to the tank via the fuel return line. This really sounds like an injector issue, would carry out a leak off test to prove or disprove.

somewhere on here is a thread on how to do it yourself with 4 empty coke bottles and some hose.

good luck

All sorted now did a leak test and cylinder 4 was leaking back badly and none of the others were.

On live data cylinders 2 and 4 were compensated alot more than the others.

Replaced with a new injector and started first time I didnt think just one leaking injector would stop it from starting but all sorted now thanks for your advice
