4th gear accelerator lack

Hi All,

I have a problem for some days that the rpm in 4th gear, while starting from, let's traffic lights goes down and up and then comes back and runs normal, same I think in 5th, but not sure as only driving in the city at the moment. It occurs if on auto or sport mode.

I think it might be the fuel pump, but not sure. Had AA in two weeks ago as it didn't start when turning the key. Just a slight hit on it was enough.

Other what I thought of was the maf as before it started when changed the large i/c hose, with not really power. Ordered a maf cleaner for the first.

Any ideas? If it's the pump as aa said it'll go sooner or later who was the manufacturer of it?

Was with Rovertune and he changed the turbohoses but did't solve it.

When the fuel pump is starting to fail, usually the engine will not Rev over say 3000rpm and the EML light comes on.
As it gets worse it happens at lower and lower engine speeds.
When you back off the throttle the EML light goes off and the car appears to behave normally.

it happens only in 4th gear, none of the others seem to be affected, even 5th seemed to be ok on M4 yesterday eve, but it feels bit like driving with breaks applied. No lights turning on at the moment though. Can this damage the engine?

PS Seems not to be the maf or turbo boost solenoid. Is there only the fuel pump left to it now?

Am wondering if it might be something else as the engine is roaring and then clicks in and goes ahead, but the solenoid I changed last year in the jatco.
