iv got the chance of a set of triple sports:D

but the guy just told me they will only fit upto a 2001 model ?

iv got a 52 reg so will they fit, as i was told that the 17" ones didnt become available till after 2001

I think you will need spacers to get them to fit properly..

Not sure what size but maybe 5mm would do the trick,,??

its to do with the brakes on the latter ones are larger than pre 2001..

ahh i see...so i need to find out for defo what size spacers i need then. cheers.

has anyone done this before?

As far as I know the 17" rims came out after the 2001 brake upgrade so you should be ok but still worth a check.

That's my understanding of the situation too.

17" wheels introduced for the TD4 and the V6 models - at the same time as the bigger brake calipers.

So they should fit without spacers.

Hopefully.

But knowing LR - a vehicle produced around the changeover date might just have ......???

You can fit spacers up to 10mm without needing longer studs - but best to have none, or the thinnest possible.

Good luck.

Hi 17" triple sports were available as an accessory wheel from launch.

So it's entirely possible the wheels need spacers to clear the later brakes.

I think the 16"+ alloys will clear ok, I know the early 15s don't, but this is only applicable to the td4 dervs, and yours is 1.8 innit?? ;) Is this the set in Weshy?
He was asking daft money for them before Xmas, £300 which is a lot when the tyres are all ****e ditch finders :eek::eek::eek::eek:
What wheels you got on now, I'm looking for a muddy set, if the price is reet like.

Same answer - Yes - if the 1.8 was built after the introduction of the TD4 and the V6 (which was late 2001 for MY02) then it should have the same brakes - as all models got the bigger brakes from that point in 2001 on.

That's good to know thanks, it widens my choice of parts on fleabay ;-)

If the early wheels are 16" they don't fit the later front brakes, I tried them last night!!!
