I just stripped and rewired my 12n (regular trailer lights) socket, and started to fit the 12s socket.
The 12s only has the reverse lights for the time being, mainly because a suitable positive isn't in the boot, yet!!
Has anyone elce fitted there 12s themselfs? How did you route your pos? I'm thinking of taking it from the battery, through the drivers side bulk head, and round the bottom of the doors to the boot, sound ok??

Run mine underneath - 3 x 6mm CSA (3 off feeds) inside 10mm fexi conduit.
All three feeds from battery (10mm lug there for the purpose) via a 30A in-line-fuse (1 unswitched feed) and voltage sensing relay (2 off switched feeds) mounted under fuse box against the suspension turret. There are some 6mm threaded studs already there. :)
You could do it with just 2 feeds (one of each) but I wanted to reduce volt drops.
All 3 then into conduit & down the bulkhead along the route following the diesel lines on nearside (liberally cable tied to suitable fixings - not the diesel lines!).
One off the switched feeds went up into boot via the bung on nearside by the tail lights for L/R Aux socket fitted in boot side panel & the other two accross the towbar to 12S. :D

Just for the hell of it - I extended the unswitched feed up into a fuse block in the offside side panel and fitted fuses and relays onto all of the N12 feeds except the indicators so that trailer wiring faults don't take out the car circuits & no volt drops - I've had a few problems repairing faults caused by dodgy trailer wiring in the past - now I only need to replace a fuse. ;)

Flexi conduit gives the cables underneath protection and is weatherproof (at least as good as the 12S itself) and they are no more at risk than the diesel lines when off roading. :):)
No mucking aboot wiv the trims or under carpet stuff (gets jumped on down there!) and easy to check if it stops working!
