I have some nice gaiters to fit to replace my split ones but i dont just want to go yanking it about if t here is a correct way to do it.

Many thanks

Dave

Good stuff.

From what i can feel through the gaiter, there is a bush or coupler down near the mid point of the stick, it wobbles a bit at that point, is this a clamp or something???

I'll try unscrewing later.
Thanks

Hi Dave, DO NOT TRY AND UNSCREW THE KNOB!!!!
You might be lucky and it comes off intact but they can also crack/split - then you're buggered.

There is another way which do not require force or risk. Lift up the plastic frame and gaiter from the bottom, then you will see joint held in place by a 13mm bolt. Remove the bolt and lift the gaiter and knob away.

Fold back the gaiter and you will find a rubber retaining 'O' ring which secures the top end of the gaiter.

Thanks for that, in time too :D

So there IS a joint coupler in there, that must loose as it twists a bit, I'll fix that too while I'm in there.

Thanks again
