Yup, a right old girls bag it is, don't get me wrong it works but the sound is a sort of squeeky, surpressed sound. The "Haynes" bible has gone walkies so I'm trying to guess what the problem might be. Are there two horns or just the one? Do they often go wrong? Anything else?

Try giving them a good wack, sometimes will "unstick" them.....from my experience (above) it seem to always be the left hand side horn that goes "noddy" sounding.

Two horns behind the grille, next to each headlamp. One is low tone and the other high - I suspect your low one has failed.

When I got my Disco, one of mine had gone and it was blowing fuses. That caused the confusing problem of the cruise control not working as the switches on the steering wheel take their power feed from the horn supply!

Easy job to fit new ones.

I have to say. The horns on my Disco are the bast I,ve had on any car !.

They are mounted right in the front, so the sound gets straight out.

My 200 TDI,s horns are exactly as you say yours are, and I,m sure its from being dunked bonnet high in water/crap all the time.
