What is this noise??

Afternoon all,
My Disco II TD5 makes a sound when the OSF wheel is taken up a tall kerb or off road, its like there are a couple of gears not quite engaging and i can feel the noise through vibrations through the throttle pedal.

any ideas?

Dunno about CV joint, but mine does this sometimes.

Usually accompanied by a brief showing of the traction control light.

as above. i often bump up kerbs and get the same noise and feeling through the pedals.

Just spoke to local LR specialist, he reckons its just traction control and normal for a car of its age.
