Just fail on the MOT on a few things do you think that it's good for a 1993 Disco as every MOT tester says it's in VGC ... Here is the fails

Rear seatbelt anchors An item not tested (Manual)

well its not in very good condition ,but par for the course, hope theres something to weld to and is not as bad as some i see

Sounds like a typical Discovery that's succumbed to the elements really. The problem is vehicles may look in very good condition from the outside, but be rotten as a pear underneath, not saying yours is exceptionally bad, it's all do-able, and I dare say typical, but I wouldn't call it 'VGC' myself if the tester has poked holes in it.

It's going to be a few quid at the garage though if you can't weld yourself, or know a friend that can (and will).

It's not a 10 minute fix either.

I'm sorry cocker, your Disco may well look like a gem, but underneath it's losing the battle against the elements like most of the other ones out there.

Not a lot if items number wise, But they are the most important, structural and safety issues. Simply put get a new chassis save the body.

chassis save the body ??? ... You can not get a new one for the Discos only the Defenders ... But it can not be that bad as it's fixed now with new MOT

People have told you what we think, and you seem to be offended by it in some way?

The mechanicals and the bodywork, interior etc may well be pristine, but the fact is, your underside is rotting away like everyone else's is, that's not 'VGC', it's same old same.

You've had it welded, and fair play.... it'll go on. But I struggle to see the point of what the thread is about.

Ask Daft about inner arches....
