Hi, Having searched the site I see there have been various post about warning lights coming on on a Disco – TC, ABS and Hill Decent.

Tonight while driving up a reasonably steep, slippery and bumpy lane the following three lights came on TC, ABS and Off Road suspension mode – have others experienced a similar problem and could this be connected to the same problem that others have connected to the “three amigos” or is this normal (I’m new to the world of the Disco)

When I switched off the vehicle and came back 40 minutes later the lights did not come back on; should it be something to worry about??

Any help greatfully appreciated.

Welcome to the 3 Amigos club.
IMO, I wouldn't worry too much.
If the lights don't come on again, after stopping the engine & restarting, the chances of having a fault logged in the SLABS Ecu are slim.
Could have been a bit of mud caught between ABS sensor & wheel bearing pick-up (best scenario) or early signs of a wheel bearing failing.
Mine was the wheel bearing & took 2 months & 5000 miles to log a fault.
If you put your location in your profile, only needs to be vague, ie NW London, there maybe someone with a Nanocom or Hawkeye near you who can clear the fault codes in your ecu.

if u dont make a confusion between the ORM and the HDC then it's quite weird and it could be something wrong with the SLABS ECU cos this ECU has two parts.... the ABS and TC are generated by the ABS part of the ECU and the ORM from the SLS part of it.

What happens if u push the ORM switch?

Hello there, the normal package of warning lights for the Three Amigos is ABS, Traction Control and Hill Descent Control - not Offroad Suspension mode. So are you sure about the last one, it's important.

Thanks for your help, having looked at the dash again I do think I may have got confused and it was actually the hill descent light. It's not done it again since so hopefully it's sorted, I will keep fingers crossed.

hi im havin the same problem with my freelander the 3 warning lights on dash - abs, hill decent, traction control are stayin on in amber n wont go off ant ideas whats wrong, im new to the forum so hiya to all

all thre run off abs wheel sensors and use brake system to work so is usual to get three lights ,gap between sensor and reluctor ring is critical and can be affected by worn wheel brgs or large knocks ,but lights will go off if just things return to normal ,faulty sensor or wiring to it will leave lights on

Well bought myself a disco this week... runs great no faults at all..... however this morning i got about 1/2 mile from home and heard a grinding noise from what i think was the offside rear (similiar to brakes when not used for a few days) anyway... thought nothing of it. It did it again about 2 mins after and guess what.... yes... the three amigos!

Tried several restarts but lights staying on.

The disco still drives great, and there are no more odd noises but lights remain.

Gonna call into the local indy and see what they can find.. fingers crossed

Could be a wheel bearing mate, get it checked asap!

Will do.... i thought i would have heard it 'grumbling' before it caused the lights... and also would it not continue to be noisy if it was a bearing?

Will see what they say tomorrow anyway...

Anyone any experience of Steve parker landrovers in Rochdale??

Well.. got it checked out.. turned out to be the nearside front ABS sensor which is being replaced later this week.

Found Steve to be very helpful and informative

Just ordered myself some new front discs and pads so i can do a bit of DIY next week myself....

Top Tip SP..Make sure before you start the job you have got an impact screwdiver ! I started the job (in the middle of nowhere) and was going along fine until I had to shift that little screw that locates the disc. Had to put it all back together to drive to get a screwdiver...not goood for the sense of humor in 40 degrees of heat.

Thanks for the heads up.... i will be doing the job at home so hopefully no driving to do....

I have ordered the bits so probably have a go next week when the kids are off school

The disco is having the abs sensor fitted on Mon, so hopefully this will resolve the problem... at least until the next one goes :D

Well it went into Steve Parkers LR this morning, and i was really hoping that i may have got away with just replacing the ABS sensor, but alas, it was the hub that was badly corroded and there was play in the bearing

So it was a new hub assembly  not cheap but i do intend on keeping the disco for a while, so don't mind... should last for a while anyway... i hope!

I did notice that when i replaced the discs and pads the other day, that the hub on the front offside was relatively new as well so fingers crossed.
