help...

went to help callum d90 collect his donor disco tonite for engine swop..

on way to his my disco started to run a bit rough.. feels like a misfire but its a diesel?

the more load on the engine the more vibration.. when towing the trailer with the donor disco on i was swoppin between 3rd and 4th on mway at 45 to 50 mph..

dropped him off an ran ok for 4/5 miles but then started again..

its more pronounced in 3,4 and 5 and at lower revs..

new oil/oil filter/fuel filter/air filter last week..

tried veg oil(rapeseed)/diesel mix 50/50 bout 3 weeks ago and again yesterday..

how do i check for a blocked injector?

done a search but most lumpy threads are on tickover/ and vibrations are u/j prop problems..

undo each one in turn the one that doesnt alter engine running when slackened is faulty others may stall it ,keeps hands away from injector

thanks for that m8...

why do i need to keep hands away from injector?

does it sound like blocked injector?

is that injector cleaner ya can add to the tank any use?

wow 3 questions in a row,,,, is that allowed?

oh no thats four now......

injects at 280 bar over 4000 psi even though not that pressure out of nut still only need a bit over 100 psi to go through skin, you can loose finger/arm or worse,it wont be blocked it will be worn/broken and need changing, good second hand one okay, yes

mornin...

oh dear...

cracked off the injectors this mornin.. engine note dropped after each one.. so they are fine..

dropped some fuel out of filter and that was clear..

shook the fuel and got loads of tiny bubbles that sank to the bottom and took and age to dissipate.. so put some more diesel in on way to work..

a little improvement in power but now there's more vibration under load in 3rd 4th and 5th.

feels like i'm drivin over rumble strips when i floor it in higher gears..

guess i needed to check u/j's on props..

any other suggestions?

Not getting any air into the system, anywhere?Like the top of the fuel tank pipes?Could try a bit of clear tube in the line to check......of course, that will let some air in to the system while fitting, but once run through you would be able to see any bubbles.Bear in mind that veg oil can do in any rubber bits as well as shifting any crap in the tank and system...well,you know that since you changed your filters.

This engines still in the disco, right? Its a D1? Sedimentor is favourite, also top of tank pipe bends. Then lift pump, the diaphragm can get porous or holed or if it has a mesh, blocked. Is it a ****Part? If not,is there a screw on top to open it up and have a look?

cheers shocker..

had a look at props... u/j fubar!!

picked up a u/j but not got time to fit so dropped prop an u/j at local garage who will try fit it if they got time..

just had a call saying both u/j's need doin.. they are tryin to get another delivered today.. which they will hopefuly fit too..

guess my original search was right... i should of known really... everyone on here always right.. thankfully...

thanks to all the forum.. sory for my stupidity..
