V8 De-Cat ?

Hello all. I have no mechanical ability or equipment. Could someone please advise re a 2003 V8 Disco:
1-what would a "de-cat" involve?
2-what performance/economy benefits might there be
3-what happens come MOT time
If it is thought worthwhile, does anyone know of somewhere around Gloucestershire that might be useful to approach to do the work? Many thanks.

I agree just keep the cats and get stainless from cat back. Will get the noise you may be after and slight performance increase. If you want it to be quicker get a TURBO/SUPERCHARGER or the great NOS.
