I am in serious need of advice for my Discovery 300 TDi Manual.

I own an M registered 300TDi Manual gearbox Discovery and now the clutch is not engageing gears?

I was driveing home and went to change DOWN THE GEARS & it was not alowing me to do so and clutch peddle was down but gearstick remained in nutral.
So i managed to crawl to the side of the road, opened the bonnet and all fluid levels were to the max point.
I then put the car into 1st gear with the engine OFF started the engine and off i went and COULD GET UP THE GEARS BUT NOT DOWN.

And when the engine is turned on and i try to get a gear and press the clutch peddle down i get a whineing sound and still obviously cant get any gears.

Please all help will be greatfully be taken on board.
Thank you.
Tony

Claim down dear

Nope. Just seeing what it's like form the other side fer a while. Be over in a week.

Back on topic.

**** now where is the k series 1.8 4 wheeled disaster when you want one?

as long as clutch hydraulics are working and havent got air in,which you could try bleeding to prove ,whats left would require gearbox out £200-£300 ,new clutch kit borg beck £70 hd release lever £10

Could it not be the clutch slave cylinder gone folks?
If it was to be that how easy is it to do and how much?
Thanks

YU should still be able to engage gears if it's the clutch. when the 110 lost it's clutch fluid I drove it 50miles in 2nd & 3rd & stalled it at the junctions. If you can't get any gears at all (get someone to push disco back & forwards) Then it's a gearbox fault. Does the clutch feel dead with no pressure? is the clutch pedal coming back up on it's own?
