Tyre Change from 235 to 205's

Hi all, I have just picked up my discovery 300Tdi at the weekend and am looking to re-tread it. I currently have 235/70 R16 on the alloys but have come across a new set of Cooper ST's for £82 a corner in the size 205/80 R16. Has anyone experience of changing to these and was it positive or negative? Or should I just hold off, put my 2" lift on and then sort out the tyre size?

Anyway EGR blank and De-cat pipe ordered.:)
 
When i got my disco it was on 205/85/16s and it looked like it was on castors (funnily enough I thinks thats what the alloys where called) now its on 235/85/16s and it looks and drives a lot better if a little bit slower to accelerate.
 
Come on, I'm only new and looking for advice and I have read that originally Disco's had 205/80's so I wanted to know if anyone had them and the experience with them. I don't mind what I have on as long as they are legal and don't make the handling unstable.:(
 
Thats the original siz for the rrc so should be fine. However they wont be popular on here, bigger is seen to be better

On a previous TDi I changed from 235/70 to 205/80 and it nearly killed me. It was like driving on a skating rink in anything other than bone dry roads.

Seriously don't do it.
 
Last year, I had the idea of running 205/85/16s on mine for majority road driving, but decided that it looked like an off road shopping trolley and was a pain in the backside to keep swapping the wheels over.

Accelerated like a b**tard though!! :eek:
