towing and rear springs

was looking for a bit advise on what others have done,using the disco for work aswell now and towing a 10 foot ifor williams trailer usually loaded with building materials,have noticed it sits down abit when trailer on,

so was going to fit heavy duty springs on rear,then though would it be worth while fitting plus 1"springs instead for abit more tyre clearance,coz want to be fitting some 265 75 16 when my 245s get down abit,not wanting to lift it 2" coz cant afford all correction arms and so on at mo..
hmm decisions...
and would it be better with shocks aswell being that i have new ones on the now..

Twin axle trailer? If so, I can't see any reason to alter the rear springs on your Disco, since they made them able to tow 3.5t from the factory in standard spec, and the twin axle configuration of the trailer should mean hardly any noseweight (relatively speaking), even when braking etc.

So, putting this to one side, do you want to know if raised springs are needed to fit 265/75R16 tyres? Answer: the springs aren't the things which allow any extra clearance, its bump stops. A 1" lifted spring, compressed to its coils, is the same length as a standard spring, after all.

Have a look at the sticky(s) at the top of the forum section, for the answer to the most-frequently asked question(s), there is a table which lists tyre sizes and required mods etc.

cool,will fit diffrent bump stops rear fenders need camel cut anyway got caught there going over speed bumps today,so will chop it tommorow..

prob wont be till summer when fitting bigger tyres so plenty time..

extendd bump stops ordered,i take it these are pretty easy to fit...
