I have a 53 TD4 ES premium at the minute. It's our sole mode of transport, used mainly for the 20mile round trip to work each day, but also has to tow our caravan. I'm seriously considering upgrading to a nice disco, but I'm unsure of what model or engine size to go for??!!
What would you disco owners recommend? It needs to have a boot big enough to fit our pushchair in, but other than that I'm not fussy!
Cheers, Mick.

Hi Mick, not really sure that I understand you to be honest mate - is your current Disco not a nice car then?

Sorry sorry sorry.

I'm so used to reading TD5, that's what I read.

I'll get me coat.

Anyway Discovery TD5 - nice car, got several, had a few more and all good.

Yeah it's a TD4 freelander. It's very nice motor, apart from the rocker cover gasket needs doing, and an engine mount needs replacing.
I'm after a little more space inside, without loosing the pulling power of a land rover.
What's the TD5 like?? Reliable?

as reliable as a land rover can get i'd say, and there's more support out there for the td5/disco than there is the td4/freelander so you'll probably find yourself in an all round better situation

yes its true there are better cars out there than land rovers (japanese for example rarely break down) but its fair comment that if you're a land rover person you'd never have anything else, and putting up with all the fuss is simply part of the fun (read: 'pain') of ownership

cheers
