My water in the fuel filter light has started to pop on every now and then.

Have removed the sensor lead and twisted the sensor anti clockwise and drained off the filter, not totally emptied it but say half a cup.

No water present that I can see.

Are the sensors prone to playing up?

Yes they do play up by virtue of their location and the crud that ensues. Give it a good clean with Brake Cleaner / Electrical Solvent Cleaner / Isopropyl Alcohol or WD40 and see how you go.

Otherwise a new sedimentor is around £20

Thanks,

Will have a look once this snow is out of the way, Disco behaving impleccably in it and busy pulling out those less fortunate!

OK, have a new sedimentor ready to fit.

Any tips, is it simply unscrew the old one and refit the new one as fast as you can to avoid dumping all the fuel in the filter?

Will give the socket on the wire a good clean before with WD40.

That's exactly how I would do it.
