Td5 Sticking ignition switch.

Hi, does anyone know if i can replace the ignition switch on my td5 for one off a 300? The price of one for my motor is about £150 on e-bay compared to £27 for one for a 300. I was just wondering if the connections are the same and if i can transfer the exciter coil and just get a blank key and have it cut to match the replacement switch and replace the key in the fob.The key has been awkward for a while now and i'm afraid of being stranded when it finally gives up the ghost. Any help very much appreciated.
