hi i have a td5 2001 model and after a couple of hours the rear suspension sags and sits down really low.. as soon as i start the car within a minute it rises back up to normall. any help here please.. sometimes it can go all night without sagging but then also a few hours and it does.... the fluid pot under the bonnet is full any suggestions..

Sounds very similar to a problem I was having, except mine would sag only on one side. Garage found leak from compressor as well as the suspension bag having a series of holes in. Not being mechanical minded it cost be £220 to replace with new bag etc.

Hi, the fluid under the bonnet has nothing to do with your suspention dropping, the rear suspention on a disco2 is AIR, you have a leaking air bag, raise the suspention to off road hight, spray the air bags with soapy water, switch off and go make a cuppa, come back and you will see a load of bubbles where its leaking, also check pipes and compressor for leaks by same method, if you put new air bags on, do both not just one,

Airbags are better than springs, but converting to springs can funnily enough be cheaper than renewing air bags, particularly the case if you've also got a leak on the pump. Just a thought - conversion kits on ebay and all major 4x4 outlets...

I can only quote my son-in-law, who's in the trade, "They ride like ****e."

it sags equally on the back and not just one side..so wouldnt it be acoincidence that both bags are leaking or not.. also where are the pipes and pump to check for leaks..

Mine was doing the same a couple of months ago and it turned out to be a leaking airbag. I think it will drop to the stops on both sides even if one bag is faulty (at least mine did). As didsdad says... do both as the old bags will be softer than newer ones possibly giving an uneven ride. I'm no mechanic and it took me a little over an hour to do both sides so not a difficult job.

I imagine that if the problem is the sensors it is more likely that it won't come back up at all.
