Hi,

After air to coil conversion I am a happy owner of a Nanocom Evo. Of course the main reason to get it was that I do needed to switch off the Air Suspension off :D (as written in the capex request)

I discovered that the NC Evo can be used as an instrument. I would like to ask, if someone has allready experience using the NC Evo as instrument ? And if yes what would be the feedback about it ? Is there a good proposal for a dash mount ?
I do see the issue that the OBD cable is somehow disturbing on the knee. And the connection is not secure, as such. It is sticking here, but movements of the knee etc. are disturbing. Or are there alternative connections/cable routing possible ?

Othervise an excellent solution for getting to know the Disco and doing some testing ;)

Looking foward

hello oldwebble great post just what I want to now. I've just ordered the NC Evo to do my ABS and to switch off the air suspension. I would like to know what others have done. Have you tested the engine monitor settings. If so what are the turbo pressures reading at normal cursing.
As for the connection the OBD connector could be moved. I don't know if i would want it mounted all the time. with constant use and heating of the electronics could make its life shorter which at this price would be annoying.
anyway please all let use know what you have done.

Hi Steve911,

how can the OBD connector be moved ? I was thinking about Y connector. But at the same time totally bollocks, as my Nanocom can do all jobs necessary ;)

About the environmental impact. I would expect that it should not be a great problem. I read in our blacklandy forum that a couple of guys had it for 1 year in a Defender running w/o problems.
But I agree it is a valuable item.

Hope that others would join the threat, too.

I use my nanocom original as an instrument in my 110 all the time. As I have a cubby box and gearstick mud console in my defender I had to modify the OBD socket position. The actual socket can be released from the metal bracket that holds it. You can aquire a plate with a obd socket hole already present from most cars found in scrap yards. THis means you can remount the socket without destroying the original OBD holding plate.

how long did it take to get the code to unlock it. I recieved my nano today and emailed for the code at lunch time but have not recieved it yet. can't wait to try it out but need the code

A mate on another forum is/has made some holders for the NC evo.

Awsome holder, looks really good. With my black smith skills :D I will never be able to make it. Brushed alu etc. ;-)
The OBD connector advises are good, I will check it next WE.
The security code came instantly on my side.

Have great Tuesday

got my nanocom working today. downloaded my abs codes and cleared them now i have no abs light on. great wife happy.
1 question at the moment when selecting the abs inputs you get the reading from each wheel sensor. is this suppose to change as you begine driving as mine gives me a warning message and stops talking to the slabs.
anyway so far happy havent had time to play with it as i get home to late:biggrin1:

The slabs ecu stops communicating at 7mph - that's normal behaviour

thanks so not a defect with the nanocom. would have been nice to see each wheel sensor input at speed as it would have pointed to a failing speed sensor

Nice setup! Much better than holding it in ones lap :)

Could someone help me find that menu? I just got my nanocom Evo and although I am computer literate I can't seem to find it and the nanocom forum doesn't have much practical info.

Select your Vehicle from the menu then instruments then Variant, it should then connect and show you real time readings, there are various displays keep pressing the right arrow to scroll through all of them. (Just got my Nanocom) and playing

You worked out what the aluminium plate is for yet?
