TD5 lost 5 and reverse gear

hello all hope somone can put me in the right direction before I go mad stripping it down. Got a 51 TD5 which was going down the road slowly in 5 then jumped out of gear with a funny noise, all other gears seem ok apart from no 5 or reverse. anyone know what the problem is or could be?

they can shear lay shaft of at the rear brg of main casing 5th and rev are behind this in extension housing could be fixed for £150 plus remove/refit box if everthing else is fine

Search for GRUB SCREW.

I lost reverse, then 5th, then 4 & 3 and eventually got jammed in 1st. Limped most of the way home in 1st - ended up getting towed the rest of the way. Turned out to be the famous GRUB SCREW. There's plenty of threads about it on here. Easy job to do apparently (local garage did mine for me as I'd only just got the Landy and knew nothing about it.)
