av a look at the pump , i had the same probs with mine , 2001 disco , sometimes it would drop 1 side sometimes both and other times not at all , also like you it wasnt used every day , what i found was that the pump motor sucks air in and gets wet and the brushes on the motor had rusted so they did not always get a good contact , so it did not always run , replaced and all was fine. regards andy

ok so i was told compressor good no problems new bags good no problems was in a landrover garage for a hour no faults at all but height sensor links split so replaced them lastnight and guess what ......... she was still on her arse this morning really dont know where to go from here any ideas??????

It can't be the twilight zone mate.............check it yourself with soapy water......suspend the rear with axle stands, take off the wheels, start the engine, push ORM switch through the open window(doors and bonnet closed!!!!)...when it's inflated take off the compressor assy's cover(quick release fasteners) and fill it with foam..."spatter" the airbags too and watch for bubbles..... if it's not something within the compressor's box(unions, valves, etc) or the bags.....it could be only the pipes themselves(unlikely and rare).....the air must leave the system somewhere if it drops:mad::mad::mad:

I got the same problem. Replaced the L/H sensor yesterday in the same way as described above and it run fine last night.
My Wife just phoned to say that the back end is on the floor! It was fine this morning before I left for work.
Any ideas chaps on what I need to do for repairs when I get home?

oh mate its not good is it lol i am sick of it i called the man who told me everything else was ok and it was the height sensors he now saying it could be a valve i dont want to keep replacing things its had new bags just b4 i bought it i just want someone to say right thats whats wrong this is what u need aaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :frusty:

think if you convert to coil you need to check insurance , if yours is a 7 seater it has to be air suspension . i know how you feel with this problem , mine was the same when i had the car , one thing after another went wrong and was glad to see the back of it , can you here the pump run ?

ok thats all good but i been quoted between £50 and £1000 to find leak cos they dont know how long it will take and had 50/50 reviews on coils some ppl saying they r great go for it and others saying they are illegal

:eek::mad:....unbelieveble:mad:......they're mad:mil71:............it seems that soapy water is quite expensive in UK:(

It shows to me that they have no idea what they are doing, so they quote a price that could cover just about anything.

Why not quote £50 to £35,000 - so they could supply a new car????

Garages eh - just you just love 'em !!!!

i just coverted mine back to srings for 146 quid sits fine now.

Hi Chris, have you told the car that it is now on springs via the various ECU's?

If you don't you will continue to accrue fault codes and the dashboard light may misbehave.

I did this yesterday on one of my TD5s' which had previously been convereted to coils, but not re-programmed and the dashboard lights for sls and other air-suspension-related lights would come on strangely - but after reprogramming with HawkEye all is good.

Cheers
Dave

I used to have this occasional problem - it was a small stone trapped in the fold of the bag, so that meant it could self-seal if the bag was just in the right position, or deflate overnight if the bag wasn't in the perfect position. Local garage did me a second-hand bag for £40 and it's been fine ever since (18 months).
